How to Get to the Acropolis of Athens
The Acropolis is well-connected to Athens’s public transport system, making it easily accessible from all parts of the city.
Line 2 (Red Line) to Acropoli Station. From there, it’s a 5-minute walk to the entrance.
Several routes stop near Makrigianni or Dionysiou Areopagitou Street, within walking distance of the site.
Take the Athens Tram to Fix Station, then walk about 15 minutes.
Widely available, but expect traffic near the historic center.
For those staying in central neighborhoods like Plaka, Monastiraki, or Syntagma Square, the Acropolis is easily reached on foot. The pedestrian street Dionysiou Areopagitou offers one of the most scenic approaches, with views of the Acropolis as you walk uphill.
